What is a Proxy Server?

A proxy server is computer that provides a network service to allow clients to create indirect network connections to other network services. A customer connects to proxy server, then requests a connection, file, or other resource available on the other server. The proxy gives the resource both by connecting to specified server or by serving it from the cache. In some cases, the proxy may perhaps alter the client's request or even the server's response for various purposes.

This kind of proxy server identifies itself as a proxy server and also make the original IP address available via the http headers. they are usually applied for their capability to cache sites and do not efficiently provide any anonymity to people who use them. However, the use of the transparent proxy will get you around simple IP bans. They are transparent while means that the IP address is exposed, not transparent in the terms that you do not know that you are making use of it (your computer is not particularly configured to use it.)
